The Experience

Traditional, authentic,
and genuinely fun

Some classes begin at a real local wet market, choosing the day's ingredients the way Cantonese families have for generations. Then your bilingual chef-teacher walks you through the techniques behind truly authentic dim sum — pleat by pleat, fold by fold.

It is more than a cooking lesson. It is a slow, joyful way into Guangdong's food culture, its history, and the everyday life of local people — a quiet, warm hour away from a fast-moving world. We heal with good food. Yummy & Funny!

    Good to Know

    Questions & answers

Do I need any cooking experience?
Not at all. Our classes are built for complete beginners and curious travellers. Your teacher guides you through every step, and there is no such thing as a dumpling that is "too ugly to eat".
Is the class taught in English?
Yes. Every class is led by a bilingual chef-teacher in fluent English and Chinese, so you will follow along easily whether you speak Cantonese, Mandarin, or neither.
Can you cater for vegetarians or allergies?
Absolutely. Every dish on our menu can be made vegetarian, and we handle most common allergies. Just let us know your needs when you book and we will adapt your menu.
How long is a class and what is included?
Most classes run around 2.5 to 3.5 hours depending on the package. That includes all ingredients and equipment, the hands-on session, a full sit-down tasting of what you made, recipe cards and a certificate. Market-tour packages add roughly an hour.
Do we eat what we cook?
Of course — that is the best part. You sit down and enjoy the full spread you have made, Cantonese-family style, tea included. Bring your appetite.
    Where are you located?
We are based in Guangzhou, Guangdong — the home of Cantonese dim sum. The exact address and directions are sent with your booking confirmation. See the contact page for the neighbourhood.
